Position Overview

The Head – Operations provides overall leadership, coordination, and management of both Clinical and Non-Clinical Operations across the hospital. Reporting to the Assistant Executive Director, this role ensures seamless functioning of patient care services, support services, infrastructure, and operational systems to achieve excellence in patient experience, safety, quality, efficiency, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and direct overall hospital operations across clinical and non-clinical functions to ensure uninterrupted patient care and service delivery.
  • Drive operational excellence across OPD, IPD, Emergency, Critical Care, OT, Diagnostics, Billing, Insurance, Housekeeping, Laundry, Maintenance, and Security.
  • Supervise and guide the Clinical Operations Manager to ensure efficient patient care operations and improved patient experience.
  • Oversee non-clinical operations including housekeeping, laundry, security, transport, waste management, and support services to maintain hygiene and safety standards.
  • Provide oversight to the Maintenance team for infrastructure upkeep, ensuring effective functioning of electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and utility systems.
  • Champion a culture of compassionate, responsive, and patient-centered care across all operational functions.
  • Ensure compliance with NABH standards, infection control practices, safety protocols, statutory regulations, and hospital policies.
  • Drive process optimization and operational efficiency through dashboards, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide leadership, mentoring, and guidance to reporting managers and operational teams, promoting accountability and teamwork.
  • Support senior management in operational planning, strategic initiatives, and preparation of operational reports and dashboards.

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • Education: Graduate, preferably with Post Graduate qualification in Hospital Administration, Healthcare Management, Operations, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 15 years of experience in hospital operations, healthcare administration, or facility management, with significant leadership responsibility in both clinical and non-clinical operations.
  • Leadership: Direct oversight of Clinical Operations Manager, Non-Clinical Operations Manager , and Maintenance Engineer.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of hospital operations, NABH standards, healthcare regulatory requirements, facility management, and hospital infrastructure systems.
  • Soft Skills: Strategic, patient-centric, quality-focused, hands-on leader with strong coordination, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
