Position Overview

The Group Product Manager / Marketing Manager – India will lead brand management and marketing strategy for the Africa Markets within the MEA Business Unit. Reporting to the General Manager Marketing – MEA & LATAM, this role provides strategic direction and drives world-class marketing practices to achieve growth, market share, and brand excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conceptualize and drive short, medium, and long-term marketing plans and business strategies for the Africa Market.
  • Analyze internal and external data, conduct primary and secondary research, and set brand objectives and strategies including positioning, segmentation, and targeting.
  • Ensure growth and market share objectives are met through continuous performance analysis and strategic course correction.
  • Lead budgeting and sales forecasting, market opportunity analysis, and financial objective setting for assigned brands.
  • Drive implementation of strategies for power and focus brands and summarize marketing activities during monthly brand operations meetings.
  • Conduct market intelligence and prescription audits to identify key prescribers and market opportunities.
  • Oversee new product launches and develop long-range brand and portfolio plans.
  • Design and deliver medical and marketing training programs for field staff.
  • Maintain sales/expense ratio and marketing trackers to ensure financial discipline.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams including Regulatory, Finance, Demand Planning, Logistics, and external vendors.
  • Undertake frequent field and KOL visits, build franchise relationships, monitor competition, and train sales teams in scientific promotion and campaign execution.

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Science or Pharmacy and a Master’s degree in Marketing or International Business.
  • Experience: At least 10+ years of experience in marketing, preferably within pharmaceutical sectors such as gynaecology, dermatology, respiratory, and/or oncology.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and collaborate with senior stakeholders across regions.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of pharmaceutical industry competition, customer behavior, and prescription habits in the Africa Market; proficiency in Microsoft applications and marketing analytics.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills; self-driven, flexible, and capable of working independently or in teams; high integrity and strong external orientation.
