About the client: PSS has been mandated to hire a Data Analyst/ Research Analyst for a multinational corporation with a strong presence in the agriculture industry, specializing in the procurement of raw materials and the processing of pulses in their manufacturing plants. They have major operations in India, Australia, and Canada.

Job Purpose:

We are seeking a self-driven Data Analyst to join our Global Research – agriculture commodity Function. As a Data Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in capturing and analyzing data related to the full supply chain, from Farm to Fork, across our operations in India, Australia, and Canada. Your primary responsibility will be to gather, organize, and analyze data on various price points and trends, enabling us to make informed commercial decisions that will optimize our business processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Collection: Collect and organize data on various price points along the supply chain, including

but not limited to farmer bids, cleaning costs, prices of various outputs, freight to port, freight to

destinations, CNF rates, and other relevant financial metrics.

• Market Research: Monitor and report on market trends, price fluctuations, and potential arbitrage

opportunities in the agricultural industry in the regions of India, Australia, and Canada

• Data Analysis: Perform in-depth data analysis using statistical and data visualization tools to identify

patterns, correlations, and trends in pricing, production, and transportation costs

• Data Quality Assurance: Ensure data accuracy and reliability by conducting data validation, cleaning,

and quality control measures

• Dashboard Creation: Develop informative and user-friendly dashboards to present data-driven

insights to stakeholders and management

• Collaboration: Collaborate with the existing research team and various departments to provide

actionable insights and support decision-making processes

• Reporting: Prepare and deliver regular reports on pricing trends, market conditions, and cost

optimization opportunities to assist in strategic planning.

Educational Qualifications And Experience:

• Must have a Bachelor’s degree education; certification in Data science and analysis would be an added advantage.
• Minimum 5+ years of working experience in the Agricultural Commodity sector/value chain required
• Proficiency in data analysis tools, such as Advanced Excel, VBA Macros, Python, or statistical software
• (e.g., SPSS) and exposure to data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Gap Minder)
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
