Position Overview

The Deputy General Manager – Technical Service (Lamination Adhesives) is a senior technical leadership role responsible for bridging the gap between product innovation, production, and end-user application. Reporting to senior management, this position ensures correct product usage, prevents failures, and provides expert technical support to enhance sales performance and customer trust.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the primary technical interface with customers, delivering on-site support, product recommendations, and troubleshooting.
• Provide expert guidance on adhesive application, including surface assessment and validation of product performance.
• Lead investigations into product complaints such as bond failures and implement effective corrective actions.
• Collaborate with R&D to conduct trials for new product launches and refine product formulations.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards such as IS, EN, and ASTM for adhesive performance and safety.
• Lead and mentor a technical service team, managing their development, performance, and operational excellence.
• Partner with sales teams to drive high-value projects and deliver technical presentations to architects, consultants, and developers.
• Develop and maintain technical datasheets, method statements, and SOPs for product usage and best practices.

Required Experience & Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry.
• Experience: Minimum 15+ years in technical service or application development within the Lamination Packaging industry.
• Technical Expertise: Proven exposure across Water based, Solvent Less, and Solvent based adhesive chemistries.
• Leadership: Demonstrated ability to manage and mentor teams, ensuring high performance under pressure.
• Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving, interpersonal, and stakeholder management capabilities with a focus on timely resolution of complex technical issues.
