Position Overview

The SVP – Engineering & Delivery Head (Trade Finance Platforms) will lead the design, build, and scale of enterprise-grade platforms serving global banks. This senior technology leader will anchor the platform roadmap, engineering excellence, modernization, and predictable high-quality delivery across multiple markets, reporting directly to executive leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor large, high-performing engineering teams across Backend, Frontend, DevOps, QA, SRE, Data, and Cloud.
• Review and guide architecture decisions, addressing high-risk code areas and performance bottlenecks.
• Institutionalize engineering excellence through clean code, DevSecOps, SRE, observability, performance, scalability, and VAPT.
• Own the technology roadmap for the Trade Finance stack including SCF, LC/BG, Documentary Collections, Open Account, and Digital Trade Ecosystems.
• Architect microservices-based, event-driven, API-first platforms designed for configurability and scale.
• Ensure adherence to strict risk, compliance, and security benchmarks of global banks.
• Drive end-to-end delivery governance across multiple programs and global markets, ensuring predictable release cadence, velocity, and production stability.
• Act as senior delivery escalation and decision-making authority with CXO and client leadership.
• Lead modernization from legacy trade core systems to cloud-native microservices and containerized deployments.
• Implement GenAI-enabled engineering frameworks (Copilot, Cursor, Tabnine, ChatGPT) to accelerate development and automation.
• Integrate ML/AI models for anomaly detection, compliance validation, invoice risk evaluation, and supply-chain risk scoring.

Required Experience & Qualifications

• Experience: 20+ years in product engineering, with 10+ years leading large technology and delivery organizations in BFSI / Trade Finance.
• Leadership: Proven success managing large engineering ecosystems directly or through matrix structures; strong stakeholder management with Product, Business, Risk, Operations, and Global Client Leaders.
• Technical Expertise: Deep experience in cloud, Kubernetes/Docker, streaming (Kafka/Pulsar), event sourcing, core banking, lending, payments, and SWIFT connectivity.
• Domain Knowledge: Strong depth in Trade Finance, SCF, Open Account, LC/BG, Payments, and Transaction Banking.
• Soft Skills: High-ownership execution leader with predictable delivery, strong rigor, urgency, hands-on problem solving, and transparent communication.
