Position Overview
Role will be focused on heading business divisions in the specific African countries to lead their Agri and non-agri commodities trading and processing SBUs.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead overall P&L and operations of the SEZ business unit, including management of key personnel.
- Drive sales of SEZ assets to Indian, African, and global investors by effectively pitching the value proposition of investing in Africa.
- Oversee procurement, logistics, and supply chain functions to secure optimal commodity pricing and make informed trading, risk mitigation, and processing decisions.
- Plan and manage logistics to support efficient commodity trading and processing activities.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders across Africa and internationally to ensure seamless business execution.
- Implement risk mitigation strategies related to commodity trading and processing.
- Champion commercial acumen and entrepreneurial solutions to drive business growth and operational excellence.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Experience: 8-12 years in sales, marketing, and P&L management within the FMCG and consumer goods industry in India.
- Leadership: Proven capability to manage large business units with full P&L responsibility and lead key personnel.
- Education: Engineering and MBA graduate from a premium business school strongly preferred.
- Technical Expertise: Strong commercial acumen with experience in procurement, logistics, supply chain, and trading decisions.
- Soft Skills: Entrepreneurial mindset, solution-oriented, agile, excellent communication skills, and ability to operate in a fast-paced, international environment.
- Mobility: Willingness to relocate to Africa, potentially with family, to lead business units on the continent.
