Position Overview

The organization seeks an accomplished leader to serve as Business Head (Ortho & Pain Management), reporting to the BU Head Odenea & COO. This role carries full P&L accountability and strategic oversight of the division, driving growth, profitability, and market expansion. The position is based in Mumbai, India and plays a pivotal role in shaping the division’s business strategy and execution roadmap.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead full P&L management for the division, ensuring revenue growth and profitability against defined targets.
  • Develop and execute annual business plans aligned with organizational goals and financial objectives.
  • Formulate and implement strategic initiatives to enhance market share in the Ortho & Pain Management therapy segment.
  • Identify market trends, competitive intelligence, and new opportunities to refine business strategy.
  • Drive business development initiatives for acute therapy products across domestic and international markets.
  • Oversee the complete product life cycle, collaborating with R&D, regulatory, and marketing teams to maintain a competitive portfolio.
  • Implement market penetration strategies and build strategic partnerships with healthcare professionals and institutions.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve or exceed annual revenue targets.
  • Ensure full regulatory compliance for all products and processes within the division.
  • Lead and mentor a high-performing team of 6 Product Managers and a DGM–Sales, fostering a culture of innovation and accountability.

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • Experience: 12–15 years of progressive leadership experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with a focus on Ortho & Pain Management therapy products.
  • Leadership: Proven success managing P&L for a division or business unit with revenues of Rs 180 crores or more; leadership of cross-functional teams including 6 Product Managers, DGM–Sales, and a 400-member field force.
  • Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of the Indian pharmaceutical market, regulatory landscape, and healthcare trends; experience in product portfolio management and market expansion.
  • Soft Skills: Strategic, analytical, and results-driven leader with exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities; adept at stakeholder management across orthopaedics, neurosurgeons, surgeons, and physicians.
