Position Overview
The Director Fundraising leads the Fundraising function for South Asia, reporting to the Executive Director. The role is responsible for developing, coordinating, and implementing a comprehensive fundraising strategy to ensure sustainable resource growth, diversify income channels, and strengthen donor engagement across the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Fundraising department, driving strategic and operational excellence across all fundraising verticals.
- Develop and execute a multi-year fundraising strategy and annual plans aligned with organizational objectives and SPARC agreements.
- Plan, implement, and optimize fundraising actions to maximize ROI and ensure long-term sustainability.
- Oversee budgets, track fundraising progress, and report results to senior leadership.
- Expand and manage diverse fundraising channels including F2F fundraising, outreach, Major Donors, HNIs, Corporate Donors (including CSR), foundations, philanthropists, and events.
- Build and maintain relationships with key philanthropists, international foundations, and high-value donors.
- Develop and enhance fundraising infrastructure, including implementation of a new CRM system.
- Apply data-driven frameworks to guide investment decisions, resource allocation, and channel optimization.
- Lead, motivate, and develop a diverse team, fostering accountability, collaboration, and resilience.
- Ensure ethical standards and organizational principles are upheld in all fundraising activities.
- Represent the organization at internal and external fundraising meetings, events, and conferences across India and South Asia.
- Collaborate with other sections and missions to ensure coherence and alignment within the global fundraising network.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Education: Master’s degree in marketing or an equivalent field from a reputed institute.
- Experience: Approximately 10–15 years of experience in marketing and fundraising/income generation, preferably with international exposure and a proven track record.
- Leadership: At least 5 years in a senior managerial position with direct supervision of 5–6 middle management roles; experience in organizational leadership and team dynamics.
- Technical Expertise: Proficiency in fundraising strategy, donor relationship management, CRM systems, and data-driven decision-making.
- Soft Skills: Demonstrated strategic vision, leadership, networking and relationship-building ability, cross-cultural awareness, and commitment to organizational principles.
