Position Overview
The Head – Supply Planning (General Manager) leads the global supply planning process, ensuring efficient and effective planning to meet market demand, optimize inventory, and maintain high service levels. Reporting to the Vice President Supply Chain, this role collaborates closely with the Global Supply Organization Leadership Team and the OU Sales Organization to align strategies with long-term business goals and drive performance across the value chain.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive supply planning strategies to ensure optimal inventory levels and support business growth.
- Align supply planning activities with overall business objectives in collaboration with senior management.
- Oversee end-to-end supply planning, including demand forecasting, inventory management, production planning, and procurement.
- Ensure timely and accurate product supply to meet market demand and customer service level agreements.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the supply planning team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
- Set performance objectives, provide feedback, and conduct performance reviews to build high-performing teams.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, procurement, logistics, sales, and marketing teams to ensure alignment of supply chain activities.
- Monitor and analyze supply chain performance metrics, implementing corrective actions to improve efficiency.
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, developing contingency plans to address potential disruptions.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards while leveraging emerging technologies and best practices.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field; a master’s degree or certification such as APICS or CSCP is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 17 years in supply planning, supply chain management, or related fields, preferably within the pharmaceutical industry.
- Leadership: Proven experience managing and developing high-performing teams with demonstrated strategic leadership capability.
- Technical Expertise: Proficiency in supply chain planning software and tools such as SAP, Oracle, and JDA; strong project management and analytical skills.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities; adept at influencing and collaborating across all organizational levels.
