Position Overview

The VP role is a strategic leadership position responsible for identifying high-potential Indian enterprises and facilitating their expansion into African industrial parks. This executive will bridge India’s manufacturing and technology strengths with Africa’s growth opportunities, ensuring seamless collaboration across integrated ecosystems and delivering measurable investment outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct targeted research on Indian industries with high African export potential, including EV components, agro-processing equipment, and solar technology.
  • Build and manage a pipeline of Indian SMEs and corporates seeking cost-competitive production bases or raw material access in Africa.
  • Design tailored market entry strategies highlighting park advantages such as tax breaks, pre-built factories, and one-stop compliance support.
  • Lead negotiations with Indian clients to structure investments, including greenfield projects and joint ventures with local partners.
  • Collaborate with Africa-based teams to align client needs with park resources such as energy supply and logistics corridors.
  • Oversee end-to-end project execution from MOUs to operational launch, ensuring alignment with client ROI targets and organizational standards.
  • Foster collaboration between Indian investors and African park tenants, including suppliers and distribution networks.
  • Organize roadshows and matchmaking events connecting Indian firms with African governments, chambers of commerce, and industry clusters.
  • Utilize digital twin platforms and AI-driven risk assessment tools to enhance client decision-making and investment confidence.
  • Coordinate with legal and compliance teams to navigate cross-border regulations such as ODI approvals and local content rules.
  • Monitor post-investment performance, develop case studies, and replicate successful models across global networks.

 

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • Experience: 15+ years in investment banking, private equity, M&A, outbound FDI advisory, cross-border manufacturing, or Africa-focused business development.
  • Sector Expertise: Deep knowledge of industries aligned with Africa’s demand, including light industrial manufacturing, renewable energy, and agro-processing.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead cross-functional, cross-continental initiatives and manage complex stakeholder relationships.
  • Technical Expertise: Proficiency in deal structuring, investment facilitation, and use of digital and AI-based decision tools.
  • Soft Skills: Strategic, analytical, and adept at building partnerships across diverse cultural and regulatory environments.
  • Network: Established relationships within relevant Indian industries to leverage for expansion initiatives.
