Position Overview
The Deputy General Manager – Marketing will play a pivotal role in driving business growth and strategic marketing initiatives, with the expectation to transition into the General Manager – Marketing role within 2–3 years. Reporting to senior management, this position leads the marketing function independently, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and delivering measurable performance outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive business growth to achieve a minimum of 30% p.a. (CAGR) through effective marketing strategies and execution.
- Identify and develop new products in women’s reproductive health care and peripheral areas through market research and competitive analysis.
- Formulate and implement strategic plans for existing products to ensure sustainable market growth and brand differentiation.
- Prepare and present annual marketing budgets, monitor monthly performance, and report variances with actionable insights.
- Provide strong leadership to an experienced marketing team, fostering collaboration, capability development, and performance excellence.
- Develop and diversify distribution and sales channels to expand market reach and optimize revenue streams.
- Continuously analyze performance metrics to enhance marketing effectiveness and ROI.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, product development, QA, and accounts to ensure strategic alignment.
- Oversee marketing systems and day-to-day administration, operating independently to support senior management.
- Conclude agreements related to business partnerships and distributorships, ensuring commercial soundness and compliance.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Education: Master’s degree in Marketing Management (regular program) with a bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering preferred.
- Experience: 12–14 years in senior marketing roles, preferably within the med-tech, medical devices, or pharma sectors, including 3–5 years in a leadership capacity.
- Leadership: Proven ability to lead and mentor a marketing team, manage cross-functional collaboration, and operate independently with minimal supervision.
- Technical Expertise: Strong fundamentals in marketing management, human behavior in demand management, product differentiation, channel mechanics, and commercial aspects of marketing.
- Soft Skills: Strategic, analytical, patient, and tolerant; capable of steering work in environments of volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity; excellent communication and presentation skills; adept in digital working environments.
