Position Overview
The Business Development Manager (BDM) will represent the company in the MEA market, reporting to the CEO / BU Head depending on seniority. The role exists to build the market from scratch, develop strategic accounts and ecosystem partners, and drive revenue through geographical expansion and acquisition of new business opportunities. This is a leadership position requiring both technical and commercial acumen to establish and grow regional operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and execute plans to achieve order booking and revenue goals.
- Build and nurture relationships with enterprise and government clients for both short- and long-term growth.
- Provide market, solution, and process feedback to leadership to refine strategy.
- Identify and manage key alliances across the IT, IoT, and software/digital stack.
- Identify, pursue, and close sales opportunities, including proposal creation and presentation.
- Map client requirements to available PQ/TQ to ensure effective commitments and competitive bids.
- Estimate project and solution development efforts, aligning with cash flow and resource requirements.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with delivery, software practice, supply chain, and business units to meet deadlines.
- Assist in setting up MEA operations, including building a team of sales managers, solution architects, presales consultants, engineers, and implementation consultants.
- Provide regular updates to management, participate in leadership and PMO reviews, and act as a key advisor for market direction.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering and/or Master’s in a business discipline.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years’ experience in a customer-facing sales role; background in IT Services, IT Project Sales, or Solution Sales preferred.
- Leadership: Proven ability to lead by example, influence senior stakeholders, and collaborate across business units.
- Technical Expertise: Strong appreciation of IT stacks, software architecture, and digital technologies.
- Soft Skills: Proactive, organized, analytical, and credible communicator with strong presentation and stakeholder management skills; passionate about software and excellence-driven.
