Position Overview

The HR Business Partner – Manufacturing Operations works with the Head of Manufacturing and their leadership team. Based in Bengaluru, this role drives the people agenda across manufacturing categories and specialist functions, ensuring robust talent, capability, and industrial relations strategies across a network of 14 factories. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Head of Manufacturing Capability and leadership team to shape and execute the HR strategy for manufacturing operations.
  • Lead talent management, succession planning, skill development, and performance management for a workforce of approximately 280–300 employees.
  • Oversee industrial relations across 14 manufacturing units, managing both unionized and non-unionized environments.
  • Engage with external stakeholders, including politically affiliated unions and local leaders, to maintain stable and productive labor relations.
  • Collaborate with the legal team to resolve industrial disputes and operational disruptions.
  • Drive leadership and capability development initiatives within the manufacturing and procurement functions.
  • Provide strategic HR guidance to cluster HR managers across Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, and Kerala.
  • Ensure alignment of HR practices with business goals across the manufacturing footprint, including packaging, materials, and indirect procurement.
  • Champion organizational agility and continuous improvement in HR systems and processes across the manufacturing network.
  • Support integration and capability building following inorganic growth and acquisitions.

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • Experience: 8-10 years of experience in manufacturing & corporate human resources, with significant exposure to manufacturing operations and multi-factory environments.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead a team of 9 direct reports and manage cluster HR managers across multiple states; oversight of approximately 1,200 unionized workers and 2,500 contractual labor.
  • Technical Expertise: Good understanding of industrial relations, talent management, succession planning, and performance management; experience collaborating with legal and operations teams.
  • Soft Skills: Strategic, agile, and resilient leader comfortable navigating complex, fast-evolving manufacturing environments and engaging with diverse stakeholders.
