Position Overview
The Zonal Head, Sales will lead the overall sales strategy for the assigned zone, reporting to the National Sales Head. This role is responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and implementing sales initiatives to achieve topline and bottom-line targets, strengthen the B2C network, and drive project-based business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute zonal sales strategies to achieve revenue and profitability goals.
- Identify business growth opportunities and design direct, channel, and new client acquisition strategies.
- Enhance the distribution landscape by expanding the B2C network and onboarding financially sound distributors.
- Drive project business by building a robust pipeline and engaging with key developers and specifiers.
- Strengthen relationships with key distributors to ensure faster turnaround times and cross-selling initiatives.
- Monitor market trends and competitive offerings; report emerging opportunities to the head office.
- Collaborate with channel partners to develop a touchpoint management system for improved customer connectivity.
- Work with the HR team to build sales force capability through regular training and development programs.
- Provide short- and long-term market forecasts and generate customer insights to shape future products.
- Conduct engagement programs and sales trainings to enhance channel partner performance.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Education: MBA Degree or equivalent with a specialization in Marketing.
- Experience: 15–20 years of Sales Management experience in Plywood, Laminate, Sanitary ware, Paints, Cement, or Pipes within the building material industry.
- Leadership: Proven ability to lead zonal teams, manage distributors, and influence cross-functional stakeholders within a matrix organization.
- Technical Expertise: Proficiency in MS Office; strong exposure to distributor-led sales and project business; experience launching new products.
- Soft Skills: Highly analytical, integrative, and capable of converting data into business intelligence; strong in team leadership and gaining commitment.
