Position Overview

This senior leadership role exists to lead the Spares, Servicing, Refurbishment, and Retrofit business, with a strategic focus on international customers, particularly utilities and power-sector clients. The role involves managing customer engagements, site evaluations, and commercial discussions, reporting directly to the Director.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Spares, Servicing, Refurbishment, and Retrofit business for domestic and international customers.
  • Develop and manage business relationships with international utilities and select domestic customers.
  • Conduct customer and site visits to evaluate the condition of installed equipment.
  • Assess equipment for on-site repair, factory refurbishment/reconditioning, or replacement through retrofit solutions.
  • Identify opportunities for supplying spares, replacement parts, and partial quantities of new equipment.
  • Lead and coordinate site teams during repair, servicing, refurbishment, and retrofit assignments.
  • Liaise directly with customers to understand technical requirements and develop suitable solutions.
  • Manage commercial discussions with a strong understanding of commercial terms.
  • Coordinate with internal technical, engineering, manufacturing, and service teams to execute customer requirements.
  • Support aftermarket business development through existing installed-base customers and new opportunities.
  • Travel extensively for customer meetings, site assessments, and project execution, including international travel.

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience: 15+ years in electrical/mechanical equipment, with expertise in spares, servicing, refurbishment, reconditioning, or retrofitment.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead site teams and manage customer-facing assignments, reporting to senior leadership.
  • Technical Expertise: Experience with Transformers, Switchgear, Motors, or their spares; switchgear design knowledge is an advantage; skilled in site assessments and equipment evaluation.
  • Soft Skills: Strong commercial acumen, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and customer negotiation capabilities.
  • Willingness to undertake frequent domestic and international travel, including overseas assignments up to 30 days.

Function:
Sales & Business Development
Must Have:
  • - 15+ years of experience in export/international sales, preferably with global power-sector clients.
  • - Experience selling transformer, switchgear spares, aftermarket, refurbishment or retrofit solutions.
Good To Have:
  • - BE/B.Tech in Electrical Engineering, preferably with strong power-sector knowledge.
  • - Experience managing international utilities, customer negotiations and complex commercial discussions.
