Job Purpose

Responsible for providing comprehensive financial support to business leadership through accurate financial reporting, statutory and tax compliance, treasury and cash flow management, and business finance activities, while ensuring the integrity of statutory and management accounts and supporting informed business decision-making.

Position Overview

The Finance Controller reports to the Regional Finance Head and supports the Central FP&A Department, company management, and external partners. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, tax compliance, treasury management, and audit readiness, safeguarding the integrity of statutory and management accounts across the group.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing, statutory reporting, IFRS-compliant financial statements, management reporting, variance analysis, and group reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with taxation, statutory regulations, transfer pricing, corporate governance, and internal/external audit requirements while managing relationships with auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities.
  • Drive FP&A activities including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, financial modelling, business performance analysis, and management dashboards to support strategic decision-making.
  • Oversee treasury operations, banking relationships, accounts payable and receivable, working capital, and cash management to ensure optimal liquidity and financial control.
  • Support commercial finance through sales reporting, pricing governance, claims management, inventory review, contract evaluation, and cross-functional business partnering with sales, marketing, supply chain, regulatory, and operations teams.
  • Lead process improvement, SAP enhancements, automation initiatives, and internal controls to strengthen financial governance, operational efficiency, and compliance.

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant with around 5 years of experience in business finance, accounting and audit, supported by strong stakeholder management, advanced Excel proficiency, sound communication skills, and a thorough understanding of local statutory and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Industry preference : Pharma, FMCG, Consumer, Manufacturing
  • Needs to have a valid work permit to work in South Africa
