Position Overview

The Associate Director (Division Head) will lead the Established Pharmaceutical Division in Mumbai, reporting to the Commercial Director (Cluster Head). This leadership role is accountable for achieving topline and bottom-line targets, driving market share growth, and ensuring strategic alignment across sales, marketing, and cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver agreed and committed topline plans for each category and brand, exceeding market growth objectives.
  • Drive top-line, market share, and bottom-line performance for the division.
  • Lead budgeting, business planning, and sales force organization to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Maintain control of the operating budget and deliver on both revenue and profitability goals.
  • Direct marketing and sales activities to achieve short- and long-term sales volumes and project targets.
  • Collaborate with product development to implement product modifications and improvements across the portfolio.
  • Manage brand life cycles through customer-centric strategies and solution-based approaches.
  • Conduct research and feasibility analysis to identify new market opportunities and inform brand strategies.
  • Develop and implement the Annual Operating Plan for the brand portfolio.
  • Engage with sales teams through meetings and initiatives to drive motivation and execution excellence.
  • Ensure timely delivery of campaign materials and coordinate with cross-functional teams including Medical, Training, Regulatory, Supply Chain, Finance, and others.

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • Education: Graduate in Science or Pharmacy; MBA/PGDBA in Sales and Marketing.
  • Experience: 15+ years in Sales and Marketing within the Pharmaceutical/Healthcare industry, including 2–3 years as a business leader managing a successful portfolio.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead a Sales & Marketing Team of 500+, including National Sales Managers and field teams.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong functional knowledge of therapy areas, key account management, and engagement with Key Opinion Leaders; experience in new launches and business turnarounds.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication, strategic thinking, analytical ability, financial acumen, creativity, innovation, and strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence, lead cross-functional teams, and manage both short- and long-term planning priorities.
