The organization is part of a young and fast-growing Asia team (less than three years old), supported by experienced counterparts in Europe and the US.
Position Overview
This India-focused commercial leadership role drives growth across key biopharma accounts and distributor networks. The position manages both equipment and consumables businesses, with responsibility for scaling revenues from 5–6 million to 10 million annually. Reporting to Viva and collaborating closely with global commercial and product leaders in the US and Europe, the role is pivotal in establishing a strong market presence and deepening strategic customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead commercial operations for bioproduction and bio pharmaceutical consumables and equipment business across India.
- Develop and execute account strategies for major clients in the bio pharmaceutical space like Serum Institute
- Manage and expand distributor relationships to strengthen market coverage and sales performance.
- Drive revenue growth across equipment and consumable lines, targeting 10 million in 3–5 years.
- Collaborate with global teams in Europe and the US to align commercial strategies and share best practices.
- Ensure effective key account management and customer support through direct and indirect channels.
- Represent the company in strategic negotiations and partnerships with potential European or US collaborators.
- Provide market intelligence and insights to inform business planning and investment decisions.
- Support the development of the Asia team by contributing to regional growth initiatives.
- Maintain high standards of compliance, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 10 years in bio pharmaceutical or bioproduction consumables, with proven success in commercial or key account management roles.
- Leadership: Experience managing distributors and key accounts within complex, large-scale organizations.
- Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of production consumables (preferred over laboratory consumables) and familiarity with companies such as Thermo Fisher Scientific, Danaher, GE Healthcare Lifesciences (Cytiva), Pall Corporation, Merck Millipore, Meissner, Advantapure, Charter Medical, Sartorius, and Saint-Gobain.
- Soft Skills: Strategic, commercially astute, and adept at navigating complex client organizations; capable of building long-term partnerships and driving growth in challenging markets.
