Position Overview
The Head – Mortgages Business will lead the end-to-end mortgage portfolio, reporting directly to the MD & CEO. This strategic leadership role is accountable for building, scaling, and profitably managing the mortgage business, encompassing strategy, sales, credit, risk, operations, collections, compliance, and people development.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and execute the mortgage business strategy aligned with organizational goals.
- Drive AUM growth, disbursement volumes, and profitability across Home Loans, LAP, and Affordable Housing segments.
- Identify and expand into new geographies, builder tie-ups, DSAs, digital channels, and strategic partnerships.
- Develop competitive pricing, product features, and policy frameworks to strengthen market positioning.
- Build and manage branch-led, DSA, builder, and alternate channel networks to enhance sourcing productivity.
- Monitor key sales metrics including login-to-disbursement ratio, ticket size, yield, and turnaround time (TAT).
- Own mortgage credit policies, underwriting standards, and approval matrices ensuring robust property due diligence and risk control.
- Oversee portfolio health through monitoring of delinquencies, GNPA/NNPA, roll-backs, and early warning signals.
- Drive process automation and digitization across LOS/LMS and property valuation systems to improve efficiency and customer experience.
- Lead collections and recovery strategies across early, bucket, and recovery stages in compliance with RBI guidelines.
- Ensure adherence to RBI/NHB regulations, internal policies, and audit standards through proactive compliance management.
- Build and lead a high-performing leadership team across sales, credit, operations, and collections, driving capability building and succession planning.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Education: Graduate in any discipline; MBA/PGDM preferred.
- Experience: 18–25+ years in Mortgage, Housing Finance, NBFC, or Banking sectors with proven success in scaling Home Loans and LAP businesses.
- Leadership: Experience managing large, multi-location teams and pan-India operations; direct reporting to senior executive leadership.
- Technical Expertise: Deep exposure to credit underwriting, property due diligence, SARFAESI, collections, and regulatory compliance.
- Soft Skills: Strong strategic and commercial acumen; excellent leadership and stakeholder management; data-driven, customer-focused, and compliance-oriented.
