Position Overview

The Deputy Commercial Head will support the Head Commercial in driving profitability, procurement excellence, and strategic sourcing across the company’s ethanol and allied business lines. Based at the Head Office, New Delhi, this role acts as the second-in-command for commercial operations, ensuring seamless execution of business strategies across procurement, sales coordination, supply chain, and stakeholder management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support preparation and execution of annual, quarterly, and strategic business plans to achieve revenue and profitability targets.
  • Drive procurement strategy and execution for key raw materials including grains, fuel, and packaging materials to ensure supply continuity and cost optimization.
  • Monitor market trends, commodity prices, crop patterns, and supply-demand dynamics to inform sourcing and inventory planning decisions.
  • Lead vendor development, supplier negotiations, contract finalization, and performance management to enhance procurement efficiency.
  • Coordinate with institutional customers, IMFL companies, and strategic accounts to ensure smooth commercial execution and long-term relationship management.
  • Support development and implementation of pricing models, commercial agreements, and business contracts with customers and suppliers.
  • Collaborate with logistics and plant teams for inventory planning, dispatch optimization, and supply chain continuity.
  • Drive process improvement initiatives, automation, and SAP/commercial process enhancements for operational efficiency.
  • Work closely with plant heads, finance, operations, legal, and SCM teams for effective execution of procurement and commercial activities.
  • Ensure adherence to statutory, excise, procurement, and compliance requirements relevant to the alcohol and ethanol industry.
  • Develop alternate sourcing strategies, localization opportunities, and strategic tie-ups to improve supply security and reduce costs.
  • Prepare periodic MIS, procurement analytics, spend analysis, and business performance reports for management review.
  • Lead, mentor, and strengthen procurement and commercial teams, ensuring capability development and succession planning.

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • Experience: Proven track record in commercial operations, procurement, and strategic sourcing within the AlcoBev, Ethanol, or allied industries.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and act as second-in-command to the Head Commercial.
  • Technical Expertise: Proficiency in SAP, MIS reporting, procurement analytics, and process automation.
  • Soft Skills: Strategic, analytical, and collaborative leader with strong stakeholder management and negotiation capabilities.
