Position Overview

The Sales Head – Metals Division & Institutional Business will lead national sales operations, driving growth, profitability, and market share across all product categories. This leadership role oversees the sales team, develops strategic sales plans, and reports directly to senior management to ensure alignment with organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets to drive company growth and profitability.
  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans across all product lines and regions.
  • Lead, mentor, and supervise the national sales team to ensure high performance and productivity.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities with dealers, institutions, contractors, NGOs, and government bodies.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, channel partners, and distributors.
  • Engage in public sector procurement by identifying tenders, managing submissions, and ensuring compliance with PPRA/e-procurement systems.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to refine sales strategies.
  • Coordinate with production, logistics, and marketing teams to align supply, pricing, and promotional activities.
  • Train and support branch sales teams to strengthen brand positioning and market growth.
  • Ensure extensive coverage of urban and rural markets through effective territory mapping and development.
  • Drive collections in coordination with accounts to maintain credit discipline and timely payments.
  • Maintain updated CRM records, prepare accurate sales reports, and present performance updates to management.
  • Represent the company at industry forums, exhibitions, trade shows, and stakeholder meetings.

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • Experience: Proven track record in leading national sales operations within the Metals industry, including wire products, roofing sheets, and structural steel categories; experience in Plastics is an added advantage.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to manage and mentor large, geographically dispersed sales teams and collaborate with cross-functional departments.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of institutional sales, public sector procurement, PPRA/e-procurement systems, and CRM tools.
  • Soft Skills: Strategic, analytical, and results-driven leader with strong relationship management and negotiation capabilities.
