Position Overview
This role drives the end-to-end process of new product development and business development, from market research and concept ideation to commercialization and client acquisition. The position ensures strategic alignment between product innovation, regulatory compliance, and commercial success through close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive market research to identify customer needs, competitive landscape, and emerging trends in domestic & international markets.
- Liaise with ingredient manufacturers to source new ingredients and develop differentiated dosage forms.
- Evaluate the current product portfolio to assess organizational strengths and identify new opportunities.
- Conceptualize and develop innovative formulations based on market analysis and competitor benchmarking.
- Prepare detailed business cases for new product ideas, including market potential, therapy areas, and projected revenues.
- Collaborate with R&D, Purchase, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely and compliant product development.
- Oversee the complete product development lifecycle from concept to commercialization, ensuring regulatory compliance and license acquisition.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement corrective actions to ensure successful product launches.
- Develop and deliver product presentations highlighting market trends, client strengths, and formulation advantages.
- Manage product costing, development cost, tentative MRP, estimated transfer price, and expected business outcomes.
- Identify and onboard new domestic clients for contract manufacturing opportunities.
- Lead commercial discussions, pricing negotiations, and agreement finalization to ensure profitability and long-term partnerships.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Experience: Proven track record in new product development, business development, and client acquisition across domestic and international markets.
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional teams and coordinate with R&D, purchase, and regulatory functions.
- Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of formulation development, market analysis, product costing, and regulatory compliance.
- Soft Skills: Strategic thinker with analytical acumen, strong communication, and negotiation capabilities.
