Position Overview
The Head – Retail Operations & Execution is a mission-critical leadership role reporting to the Founder (Retail Business Head). The position is responsible for building and running the execution backbone of the retail business, influencing product selection, pricing structures, and sales decisions to ensure profitable, scalable, and execution-friendly growth. The role owns the entire lifecycle from order finalisation to project handover, managing 300+ projects/month across cities with full accountability for timelines, quality, cost, and customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with Sales, Design, and Category teams to align product selection with manufacturing capability and execution feasibility.
- Influence product mix standardisation and SKU rationalisation to improve scalability and reduce complexity.
- Provide on-ground cost intelligence to support pricing and validate project-level commercials for feasibility.
- Act as backend support to Sales for closing high-quality, execution-ready orders and reducing rework or mis-selling.
- Own the complete lifecycle from order validation to final handover, ensuring adherence to TAT, quality, and cost benchmarks.
- Manage and monitor 300+ projects per month across multiple cities, building systems for real-time tracking and control.
- Align closely with Manufacturing Operations and Supply Chain to ensure seamless coordination from factory to site.
- Standardise installation processes, improve productivity, and drive on-time, first-time-right project completion.
- Own cost and margin management, driving optimisation across design, production, logistics, and installation.
- Build a central operations control tower for end-to-end visibility and proactive risk management.
- Ensure superior last-mile customer experience through predictable timelines and quick resolution of escalations.
- Develop scalable SOPs, dashboards, and governance mechanisms to track key metrics and ensure process discipline.
- Build and lead a high-performance, multi-city operations team with clear KRAs and a culture of execution excellence.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Experience: 18–20+ years in operations, execution, or project delivery roles.
- Leadership: Proven ability to manage multi-city teams and complex coordination across functions.
- Technical Expertise: Deep domain knowledge in modular furniture, interiors, kitchens, or similar industries; strong understanding of product-category linkage, pricing, cost structures, and margin management.
- Soft Skills: Highly hands-on, structured, and execution-driven; strong collaboration with sales and category teams; disciplined and customer-focused leadership style.
