Position Overview

The Unit Head role is a strategic leadership position responsible for end-to-end management of a manufacturing unit, reporting to the Business Head – Cluster. The role combines technical and commercial accountability, ensuring operational excellence, cost optimization, and full P&L ownership while driving safety, quality, and efficiency across plant operations.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the business unit with complete P&L accountability and operational ownership.
Strategize and direct all production, engineering, bottling, and powerhouse operations within budgetary parameters.
Ensure achievement of volume targets within defined timelines and quality standards.
Develop and implement organizational frameworks to support business expansion and process excellence.
Oversee plant design, erection, commissioning, and process conceptualization for new and existing facilities.
Manage resource allocation and capacity planning across multiple locations, including third-party operations.
Drive safety initiatives and ensure compliance with Health, Safety & Environment standards.
Maintain adherence to quality management systems and operational compliance requirements.
Optimize production processes to achieve cost efficiencies and operational reliability.
Monitor product standards, maintain production records, and execute quality control programs.
Ensure effective administration, material management, and excise reporting in coordination with government authorities.
Provide leadership to foster a safe, positive, and high-performance workplace culture.

Required Experience & Qualifications

Education: Engineering degree.
Experience: 18–20 years of professional experience in manufacturing or distillery operations.
Leadership: Proven ability to manage large teams, oversee multiple plant functions, and report to senior business leadership.
Technical Expertise: Proficiency in P&L management, cost optimization, engineering, packaging, brewing, utilities operations, product planning, plant administration, HSE compliance, quality management, budgeting, and contract management.
Soft Skills: Strong business acumen, interpersonal communication, people management, and commercial orientation.
