Position Overview
The Head – Supply Planning (General Manager) leads the global supply planning function, ensuring efficient and effective planning to meet market demand while optimizing inventory and service levels. Reporting to the Vice President Supply Chain, this role partners closely with manufacturing, procurement, logistics, and sales to design and execute supply chain strategies that align with long-term business goals and drive operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive supply planning strategies to ensure optimal inventory levels and support business growth.
- Align supply planning activities with overall business objectives in collaboration with senior management.
- Oversee end-to-end supply planning processes including demand forecasting, inventory management, production planning, and procurement.
- Ensure timely and accurate product supply to meet market demand and customer service level agreements.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the supply planning team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and performance excellence.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing, procurement, logistics, sales, and marketing to ensure alignment of supply chain activities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to drive collaboration and achieve shared goals.
- Monitor and analyze supply chain performance metrics, identifying improvement opportunities and implementing corrective actions.
- Utilize data analytics and supply chain software to optimize planning processes and enhance efficiency.
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels.
- Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to maintain competitive advantage.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field; a master’s degree or certification such as APICS or CSCP is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 17 years in supply planning, supply chain management, or related fields, preferably within the pharmaceutical industry.
- Leadership: Proven experience managing and developing high-performing teams with demonstrated success in strategic leadership roles.
- Technical Expertise: Proficiency in supply chain planning software and tools such as SAP, Oracle, and JDA; strong project management and analytical capabilities.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills; ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all organizational levels.
