About the client:  PSS has been mandated to hire a Sales Manager – North America & Canada for a well-known Indian ethnic foods brand.

Job Purpose: 

To drive the growth and expansion of the brand in the US and Canadian markets by managing distributor relationships, developing strategic sales plans, and executing initiatives to achieve revenue targets. He/She will be responsible for identifying and onboarding new distributors, negotiating contracts, and collaborating closely with internal teams to optimize product offerings and promotional activities tailored to the North American market. The role aims to maximize profitability, enhance market share, and foster long-term partnerships with key stakeholders to ensure sustained growth and customer satisfaction in the region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Distributor Management:
    • Identify, onboard, and manage relationships with distributors across the US and Canada.
    • Conduct regular visits to distributors to assess performance, provide support, and strengthen partnerships.
    • Accompany distributor sales personnel on market visits to understand local dynamics, customer preferences, and sales opportunities.
    • Monitor distributor performance, provide feedback, and implement corrective actions as needed.
    • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with distributors to ensure profitability and compliance with company policies.
  • Sales Strategy & Planning:
    • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve company objectives and revenue targets.
    • Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences to identify growth opportunities.
    • Coordinate with marketing and product development teams to launch new products and promotions tailored to the North American market.
  • Sales Forecasting & Reporting:
    • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual sales forecasts.
    • Monitor sales metrics, analyze data, and provide insights to inform decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Customer Relationship Management:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, retailers, and industry stakeholders.
    • Address customer inquiries, resolve issues, and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in International Business, Marketing, or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in sales management, preferably in the food industry.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to travel extensively within North America.
